The Discover Scuba Diving program allows you to experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a Scuba Instructor in a pool. During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills. You’ll discover excitement and adventure - freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater. Only a diver knows the feeling! Come and explore the underwater world with us. If you want to learn to scuba dive, the first step is to take a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Open Water Diver course, the most widely recognized and respected diving certification in the world. Learn To SCUBA Dive!!!
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn an Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a Junior Open Water Diver certification available.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will earn your diver certification by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (lake or ocean) dives. The open water dives can be completed here (May – October) or we can refer you while on your vacation.
At Maritime Divers, we will schedule the course around your busy schedule. We can begin anytime your schedule allows. Our scheduled classes start every month meeting on a Monday night, at the store, to cover knowledge reviews. Then we meet Wednesday night at the pool (either Lincoln High School or the YMCA), for two consecutive weeks. Our classes are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. During our scheduled courses you can become certified within two weeks.
